We’ve Had Towns Without Police Before

Posted June 28th, 2020 by Iron Mike

Back when our Constitution was written,  there were no police.  Lawbreaking fools were placed in stocks,  – or tarred and feathered.  The worst were hung.  Most people were well-mannered and well-behaved.   People went to church.

Boston formed Police in 1838,  NYC in 1845,  Chicago in 1855,  Los Angeles in 1869.  But even then very few cities or towns had police.  Who kept the Peace?

E-V-R-Y-B-O-D-Y-!

Since the Pilgrims had come ashore,  everybody was armed; – every able-bodied man was a member of the Militia, and every woman could defend her home with a blunderbuss or a musket.

The Colonies prospered and expanded,  Americans began making their own muskets and rifles (better than English ones) and the population began to move inland,  – across the Appalachians,   and then across the Mississippi.

In the Old West,  towns sprang up wherever somebody found Gold or Silver.  They attracted the desperate, the ambitious, and the evil – seemingly in equal measure.  A man could be beaten or killed for his claim,  his supplies,   his horse,  or after 1865 – for the color of his pants.   Women were constantly at risk.

So,…everybody carried!

The level of murder,  mayhem,  and rape was kept in check by the sure and certain knowledge that every potential victim was likely carrying,  – and was likely a decent shot.

The Derringer and the pocket pistol were part of what proper ladies wore – when at home alone and when out doing necessary shopping.

As über-liberals today are yammering to disband their town police forces,  – we should see a corresponding boom in gun sales.

After all,  even liberal women are only so liberal.

After they’ve been groped, mugged, and assaulted a few times, (with no police to call),  – they’ll want to consider things like EFFECTIVE RANGE,  NUMBER OF ROUNDS,  and KNOCKDOWN POWER.

Quick typo: it was 1865, not 1965, when the color of pants could be dangerous. (For those wondering WHY – think history; what happened in 1865?)

Why don’t we let all the bad guys out of prison (since no one will be there to watch them), and house them with the liberals who vote to defund and disband the police? And certainly don’t leave off the list the judges who gave them light sentences, or probation! They should get the ones whose trials they oversaw.

In MASS-HOLE-A-CHUSSETTS law abiding citizens need permits to carry either guns or pepper spray/mace. Criminals of course, don’t bother to get permits for anything. If you don’t have a permit and you need something immediately I suggest driving up to NH where you can get bear repellent from Walmart with out showing anything. Make sure you pay with cash though.

MACE has been legal here for a few years Kojack. We strongly urge folks to buy the kind that comes out like a string of silly putty – it sticks longer – embeds itself in hair and clothing. Vic $10.oo keep one in the car – one in the bedroom, the bathroom, and ALWAYS on you when walking or jogging.

As I understand it, MACE is legal but you still need a permit from your municipality’s PD to purchase it.

Nope. The SINGLE common sense change that our liberal legislature made was legalizing MACE. You only need to be 18 years old.

Excellent! In this instance I’m extremely glad to be wrong. Thank you for setting me straight.

Every woman and every old person should have several – to carry, – in their car, and in key rooms at home. Get the kind that shoots out like Silly Putty – you can control where it goes and it sticks to clothing and hair.
