Trump: “Rescind Participation Awards!’

Posted August 1st, 2019 by Iron Mike

Finally!  We have a Commander-in-Chief who understands that rewarding mediocrity and unethical conduct destroys Military Morale and Discipline.

We cannot EVER expect to win against 7th Century barbarians by fighting under Obama’s pussified rules of engagement.  Thank God after 8 wasted years, Trump understands this!

After the Eddie Gallagher Court-Martial (7 not guilty verdicts) only found Gallagher guilty of posing with a dead terrorist, 4 Navy prosecutors (JAGs) and 4 support staff (clerks) were awarded Navy Achievement Medals for “superb results” and “expert litigation”….in a courtroom ceremony….

To make matters even more egregious, Navy Captain Aaron Rugh, – the judge in Gallagher’s case – and soon to sit in judgment of Gallagher’s boss….attended the award ceremony.

Three lieutenants — George O. Hageman, Brian P. John and Scott I. McDonald — and a female officer whose name and rank were redacted by the Navy received Navy Achievement Medals just eight days after Gallagher was found not guilty on all but one charge.  Their ‘hours viewing videotape’ was cited….

Trump’s order and tweets made it clear that our Commander-in-Chief saw no ‘achievement’ in the Gallagher prosecution.  I suspect he’s asked somebody to review the records of the JAG Supervisor for Western USA – Captain Meg Larrea – who approved the awards – probably for another feel-good photo-op.

The damage done by Obama to our Military will take a decade or more to erase, – much as it did after Carter.

Good for Trump. They were participation trophies.
