Spice Mixer Bill Penzey Says We’re ALL ‘Racists’

Posted November 21st, 2016 by Iron Mike

Bill inherited a good little business from his father – a chain of spice stores.  If you are big into cooking, – you’re likely a customer.  You may have even gotten Bill Penzey’s email – calling you a racist voter

He says you are a racist if you voted for Trump!

Penzeys is a chain of some 70 retail stores and 700,000 catalog and on-line customers,…so Bill may feel secure that he won’t lose too much business by showing everybody that he is an uninformed asshole.

He’s just confined his TV viewing to CNN and ABC….and he believed their propaganda.

In calling Trump voters ‘racists’, – he shows how very little he knows about the history of the Democrat Party – the party of slavery,  Jim Crow laws,  the KKKEBT cards,  and abortions.

Since Bill owns the company outright – he only has to answer to himself for his hateful post-election sour grapes…. No stockholders,  – no board of directors

…just YOU!

I think Bill needs some calls and some emails:

1-800-741-7787    Email Bill: bill@penzeys.com

Penzey’s 2nd Email to his customers:

In it I said:  “The open embrace of racism by the Republican Party in this election is now unleashing a wave of ugliness unseen in this country for decades. The American people are taking notice. Let’s commit to giving the people a better choice. Our kindness really is our strength.”

Since I ask you to read my emails, I feel it’s only right that I read each of your replies. In sifting through those replies it was clear that, though not intended, a good number of people seemed to sincerely believe that in my statement I was calling all Republicans racists. In the emails of those Republicans who voted for someone other than the party’s nominee, I sensed genuine pain at having the strength of character to not go along with what was happening, but nonetheless be grouped in with those who were. I apologize for writing something that caused you pain; that is not the person I want to be. You are your party’s future, and you deserve my admiration and respect, and your country’s as well.

For the rest of you, you just voted for an openly racist candidate for the presidency of the United States of America.  In your defense, most of you did so without thinking of the consequences of your candidate’s racism, because for most of you the heartbreaking destruction racism causes has never been anything you or your loved ones have had to experience. But the thing is elections have their consequences. This is no longer sixty years ago. Whether any of us like it or not, for the next four years the 80% of this country who did not just vote for an openly racist candidate are going to treat you like you are the kind of person who would vote for an openly racist candidate.

You can get angry at everyone else for treating you like you just did the thing you just did, or you can take responsibility for your actions and begin to make amends.  If you are lucky and younger family members are still coming over for Thanksgiving, before it’s too late, take a moment and honestly think about how your actions must look through their eyes. Simply saying “I never thought he’d win” might be enough.  But if you have the means, leaving a receipt from a sizable donation to the ACLU or the SPLC accidentally laying around where you carve the turkey, might go over even better.

Or, just do what you do best and volunteer. Through our customers’ support, we’ve given away a lot of our Penzeys Pepper, the Pepper with heart. More often than not, those we meet cooking and serving food to feed those in need are Republicans.  You really are a good bunch,  but you just committed the biggest act of racism in American history since Wallace stood in the schoolhouse doorway 53 years ago. Make this right. Take ownership for what you have done and begin the pathway forward.

Thanks for reading,

Bill

If you call Bill – or email him,    – ask him how many BLACK employees he has,  – and how come BLACK UNEMPLOYMENT went so HIGH under our “First Black President”…

See if he has an informed answer – or just more CNN propaganda.

Ask him if he is familiar with Stalin’s term “Useful idiot”….

Ole Bill could use a lesson in real US history. There is no doubt that The demorat party was the pro slavery, pro KKK, pro Jim Crow Party. But in addition there are historical facts that further set a tone ref our approach to our black population and slavery. Some of that history is NOT WELL known or swept under the rug. While I am not a big fan of the internet as a 100% source of the truth. there are some interesting facts out there. For example Robert E. Lee freed his slaves the week before Lincoln announced the Emancipation Proclamation. U. S. Grant apparently freed his slaves (bet you didn’t know he owned slaves – but he did via his marriage) reportedly three months after Appomattox. Found that fact in a bio on the good general written in 1886 entitled “Meet General Grant” Really want an eye opener google Black Slave Owners in the South prior to 1861. There were several hundred free black slave owners in the south before the war. One gent in LA owned 250 slaves making him one wealthy dude. There were even free black slave owners in MA before the war. Wonder what Mr. Bill P would think of that?

I’m sure his comments will do wonders for his business. I’d boycott his stores, but since I’d never heard of Penzey’s before this posting, in effect I already am.

In addition to his spices you get a yuge dose of JERK! Boy, isn’t he Mr Know-it-all and definitely full of himself. No worries that I will ever darken his door in Arlington.

Just wanted to say hi….and thank you for helping Trump win the election over pure evil. Please continue your lies…..especially the ones you call everyone who disagrees with you a racist….they help in many many ways. Hope to cross paths with you some day so you can tell me specifically how Trump AND myself are racists.

    Deplorable

All talk, no proof. Just a big windbag and as stated above, a useful idiot.

  7. Robby G.

    Sounds like a “deplorable” person.

    Oh wait…I forgot…

    That’s me!

Several days ago I received a catalog from Penzeys. I “did” like their spices but am sure that my Christmas treats will taste just as good with some other brand.

Dear Outspoken Bill won’t get my business from now on since I am one of those Deplorables.

  9. Jim

I just sent him the following email…
    Mr Penzey,

I was very disappointed to read your letter calling me a racist. You can never know what my agenda is governing my vote. There are myriad reasons why one would vote one way or another. You know none of these things about me.

Sadly, I have been to your store in Arlington, MA and Scottsdale, AZ (where I now live) and will no longer buy your products. Calling me names is not something I expect from someone who wishes to sell me his wares. But, if that’s the way it is, that’s the way it is.

I have been using your spices and rubs since my son first gave me some at Christmas over a decade ago. I have always enjoyed then. No more. I’ll have to search out a new purveyor of spice for my cooking and grilling. Even one of my favorites: Mural of Flavor. I have found Mama Stella’s Cape Cod Seasoning… and am enjoying that on my pork chops tonight.

I am sure I am not the only person who feels this way. There are probably many, many others. You see, I don’t know you so I don’t know why you did what you did. I don’t know your motivations, not do I presume to. I am not into name calling.

    Very truly yours,

    Jim Ettwein

    Still no answer from Penzey

I realize that this is an old post and not many people look at this page anyway but the photo of Bill is not an all white Christmas party. Its from a charity fundraiser for the Cancer Society. And there are no guards at the head quarters. Its an old building that they purchased. You can just drive right in.

    ========================================

Really Georgia? Were you AT that all-White charity fundraiser?
