MassGOP Chair Stiffs Friday Morning Group!

Kirsten Hughes – No Show

She’s been in office barely nine days.  She promised to be more active and get right to work.  She said it was a new day for the MassGop.  Unfortunately, it’s more of the same old same old.

About thirty bedrock conservatives showed up for this month’s Friday Morning Group meeting in Lexington.  Kirsten Hughes was one of the featured speakers.  The group was looking forward to hearing from the party chair and her plans for the GOP in Massachusetts. But, alas, she stiffed us.  Not a call to let anyone know either.

What can we infer?  Well, I infer that nothing has changed.  The leadership is intent on going its own way.  They don’t need to talk to no stinkin’ conservatives.  They already know what’s best.  After all, it’s worked so well in the past.  Oh, wait…

So, this is just one of the reasons why I urge you to contact your state committeeman/woman and tell them that you expect them to have call a special meeting to discuss voting irregularities at the meeting on January 31, 2013.  It only takes fifteen members to call a Special Meeting.  They’ve already sent a letter to Chairman Hughes.

Whose Party?

Whose Party?

I was there that night.  It was not a pretty meeting.  There was a strong undercurrent of smug from the old-line party.  They felt that the outcome was theirs.  It took two secret votes for them to do it, but they did.  Now the details are coming out and it seems that there are “issues”.

Speculation is not good… let’s see what happens at the Special Meeting.  It’s up to our committeemen and women to make things right.  But, it should be done in the open and with transparency.  Not the way the Democrats do it.  We’re better than that.  rr

So a week after this bunch told us to unify, we have seen Hughes no-show the Friday Morning Group and Brad Jones punish Shaunna O’Connell for supporting Green by removing her from the Ways & Means Committee. The more things change..
