Allentown. Billy Joel was right, and PresO helped!

Posted September 30th, 2010 by Jim Ettwein

Just like the song, they’re closing all the factories down.  (Full disclosure:  Allentown, PA is my actual hometown.) rr (Oh, and thanks to long-time reader, and lifelong friend, Flick for alerting me to this story.)

An article in today’s Allentown “Morning Call” tells the story of a company that PresO visited during his administration. A company he said was prospering because of his policies. Today this company announced that they’re probably closing by the end of the year. They cited lack of business. Even stimulus couldn’t keep them afloat. (I won’t mention that they are a union company.) See the very well-written article by Spencer Soper at HERE

One thing that jumped out at me in this article is the quote about how the government didn’t spread enough stimulus money. Once again, we have people waiting for the government to ride in and help them. If the government would lower the taxes and get out of the way of business perhaps things would pick up and Americans would once again realize that the government is not the solution- it is the problem. With apologies to Ronald Reagan!

No need to apologize to Ronald Reagan… I’m sure he’d be proud that we revere his words and thoughts and that we continue to look to him for conservative thought. (That last should be American Thought) rr
