A Left-winger Makes His Mark

Posted January 9th, 2011 by Jim Ettwein

We all pray for those who were affected by yesterday’s shooting in Tucson. We hope for a full-recovery of Rep. Giffords. We pray for the families of those who were killed or injured.

All that notwithstanding, we wonder how the next few days will demonstrate the integrity of the news media. We wonder how sites like HuffPo will portray this left-wing killer. Will they have the integrity to position him as such? I doubt it.

In truth, I don’t believe that killings like this are left- or right-wing oriented. These are nut cases whose political leanings are immaterial.

I always ask myself, when something like this happens, “Hmmm… if an act like this casts a dark shadow over an entire group, why doesn’t a singular act of mercy or kindness similarly cast a bright light?” We always seem to try to justify such actions as being representative of a group as a whole. Even when that group espouses no such philosophy.

Let’s just look at it as it is. A heinous crime perpetrated by a heinous individual. Thank goodness AZ sill has the death penalty. rr

There will be a robust insanity defense for this perp and I am sure that the lawyers are swarming through Pima County. The comments by the Pima County Sheriff last night were incendiary and, in my opinion, just an attempt to blame talk radio “vitriol” and the right in general. Where was Sherrif Joe Arpeo when you really need him. Yes, I know he is in Marricopa County. The reports say that the perp has been a trouble maker, lives with his parents and may belong to an organization called “American Rennaissance Group” fits the mold. Is he employed, on his parents health insurance, did he act alone, or is there really another suspect? I expect that the HuffPo or the Daily Kos will ratchet up their left wing postings. We pray for the victims, their family and friends and we pray for civility.

You know what get the facts before you speak I am sure this guy was incited by republicans and Sarah Palin. It looks like Republicans have now resorted to violence in their quest to support the wealthy and beat down the poor. You make me ill

…and you’re sure he wasn’t incited by PresO’s remarks about bringing a gun to a knife fight? I’m sure the guy was just a wacko… as crazy as can be. He wasn’t incited by anything other than the voices in his head.

Sir, it is not me or the Rabid Republican (RR) that makes you ill. You are a “flaming liberal” and, as such, you are afflicted with the terminal disease of “liberalism”. If this had been a Republican Congressperson, who had been involved in this tragedy, would there have been the vitriol from MSNBC, HuffPo, the talking heads and the Daily Kos? I think not. Check them out and don’t accuse me or the RR of not having the facts.

I guess we should blame Jodie Foster for “inciting” that other whack job to shoot President Reagan then. That makes about as much sense as Mr. Kelly’s post. Actually , the only violence I am aware of was perpetrated by liberals. Such as the union goons beating up the Tea Party atendee and the other incident where the left winger bit a finger almost off of a Tea Party atendee. If we are going to limit what can be said because of fear of “inciting” the unbalanced, least common denominator among us, then no one will be allowed to say anything or express any opinion. Watch what you wish for, Mr. Kelly. The knife cuts both ways.
