12 Aliases, 10 Warrants, Kidnap, Rape, Drugs

Will Lorenzo Echevacia
finally get
Deval Patrick’s attention?

Lorenzo is one bad hombre!

12 aliases, 10 arrest warrants, a 2001 kidnap-rape in Saugus, drug charges, prison time, deported in 2004 to the Dominican Republic, obviously re-entered illegally,  – he is the poster child for why we need Secure Communities.

As of 11 AM this morning the Executive Office of Public Safety hadn’t even heard of him.

Do you think Deval Patrick ~ might ~ read his rap sheet and change his mind about implementing Secure Communities across the land?  I’ve called several times.  The receptionist is sounding tense.

Deval’s office:  617  725-4005

Through a series of meetings held by Patrick’s office on Secure Communities, we have listened to various immigrant advocacy groups stand up and testify “we are just hard working people – we are good people – don’t profile us”.

Well, except for that pesky part about being here illegally, they’re mostly right.  But among them – like fish in the sea, swim some real goons.

What ‘hard work’ do you suppose Lorenzo has been doing to earn his daily bread?

We know from the news report he served prison time, was in possession of forged vehicle documents and a driver’s license under a fictitious name, and has outstanding warrants for such things as the kidnap/rape and Class A drug charges.

So what kind of ‘hard work’ does a résumé like this get you?  Drug distribution?  Shaking down other illegals?  Burglary and robbery?  What do you want to bet this guy has at least two ‘families’?

Nice police work Trooper Gerardi!  I hope the Governor doesn’t order you reassigned to Pittsfield.

I believe that the governor is on a “book tour” and can, most likely, not be reached for comment. Are you really surprised that the Executive Department of Public Safety was, as usual, clueless on illegals after the performance that we have seen at the past four meetings? Do you feel safe? I do, but not because of the EDoPS. Maybe, Joe B at Fox 25 can bird dog this travesty as a follow on to their last Secure Communities expose?

You can’t help feeling like we have been more successful in opposition to the opposition. The ‘Statewide Tour’ designed to bash SecComm has been reduced to presentations in heavily Hisapanic Communities. Cancelling all those western Mass venues was a sure sign.

Shaunna O’Connel has affixed the SecComm to the budget so we’ll see what we shall see.

Ah, but the Guv is away… again.

We’ll wait. Maybe another lighting fixture will fall down in the tunnel to distract everyone.
