The Early Storm: Republicans vs Democrats

Posted November 1st, 2011 by Iron Mike

We had a sizable storm across New England Saturday night.  Heavy wet snow landed on trees still sporting green leaves. Overburdened branches, limbs, and whole trees fell bringing down power lines everywhere.

Three mornings later you can clearly tell the difference between Republican and Democrat home-owners.  Republicans got out there early with chain saws and cleared their streets and driveways, putting the usable future firewood in neat piles.

Democrats have left the deadfall where it lies in their streets.   They’ve been calling their town halls asking ‘…when is somebody coming by to clean this up?’  They have become so government-dependant that they expect the unseen hand of government to come pick up their downed trees.

By Wednesday they’ll be in line at Niki Tsongas’ office looking for their FEMA cards and their bailout checks.

Have no fear Niki is working to get disaster refief and staus from the Obama administration. He is off to the G20 meetings in Europe where there is also a disaster looming. Maybe she could contact the Chinese and have them send $$$ to US and Euros to the G20.

Conservatives are self reliant. AND we are also charitable – not only did we take care of our own – we plowed our neighbor’s out and cut up several trees for others.

I look at this “emergency” as good practice for what is to come. Get prepared! It’s going to be a bumpy ride.

What I`d like to know is how you can tell if a homeowner is a Republican or a Democrat. Is it the house values? Or maybe a Mexican illegal cutting the trees?
