We Have A New President!

I’ve been watching our president with deep interest from the days of the 2004 DNC in Boston. Back then he electrified the Convention, although only a Illinois State Senator at the time.  Many started talking “President”.  Wow, who knew? 

Upon being elected to the US Senate in 2004, Obama really went into high gear – positioning himself for a run at the White House and doing the only thing he appears able to do well, – give speeches that vilify American traditions, question our values, and blame George W. Bush.  Back then I wondered who was funding his travels, – but I guess we’ve sort of figured that out.  Anyway, while we can deplore the methods, and question the gullibility of American voters in 2008, – it’s hard to knock success. Obama won. Period.

In 2008 and through all of 2009 we saw OldBama – a supremely confident – even cocky young man, convinced in the righteousness of his views, and secure in his skill at mass marketing.  There were hardly stages or venues big enough to hold either his audiences or his ego. Remember the speech he gave in Berlin?  Or his DNC acceptance speech which was moved from the Pepsi Center to Bronco Stadium?

And as the momentum built behind him in the MSM, – as his picture was on all the magazine covers, – as his every move was followed on the news, – he assumed god-like proportions to some.  Chris Matthews’ famous “chill running up my leg” took on a life of its own.  Poor – mostly inner-city Blacks were seen on TV euphorically proclaiming that he “was sent from God”. Commentators including this author mockingly called him The MEssiah.  And we were both amazed and alarmed when – he won!

Upon taking office he was giving televised speeches on a daily basis, from the rose garden to the UN to Cairo to Moscow to China.  He had to tell everybody that he represented a new America, – a more humble and more apologetic America.  An America where his plan for reforming health care was about to transform everything.  While Pelosi and Reid steamrolled the Stimulus, Cap & Trade, and ObamaCare through Congress, Obama’s voice and teleprompter seemed unstoppable. His overbearing smugness was so palpable that we all mocked him for it.

True there was growing opposition.  Those damned TEA Parties,  that idiot Glenn Beck,  the smartalec Hannity and that insufferable Rush Limbaugh.  And those bloggers, Drudge, Breitbart, Malkin, Bob Parks, and America’s arch-villain – FoxNews.  But OldBama continued to fly Air Force One all over the country and bitch-slap his opposition – calling them mean-spirited, ill-informed, and stubborn.  And the MSM helped him by ignoring the anger boiling over at the Town Hall meetings and the TEA Party events.

So when suddenly the polls indicated that “Teddy’s seat” might be in dire trouble, a supremely arrogant and smugly sneering OldBama flew into Boston at the last minute to work HIS magic, to do what Bill Clinton had just failed in doing, and pull Martha’s chestnuts from the fire. No matter that he’d never met her [or Scott Brown] – HE was after all OldBama the Magnificent, – and if HE wanted her elected, – the people had to comply.  He showed us his cleverness and his grasp of the people by campaigning against Scott’s pickup truck.  Badda Bing – Badda Boom, Martha was now a shoe-in!  Right?

But by 10:20 PM  Tuesday, January 19th the sun had begun to set on George Soros’ Socialist Empire.  The Chosen One – the Teleprompter-powered Puppet was in a new state – the state of denial.  Pelosi and Reid quickly grasped the truth, because their ranks were thinning by the minute.  By Wednesday night ObamaCare and probably Cap & Tax were laying like dead fish in the back of a disconnected refrigerator. So were the next three years of OldBama’s term in office.

To me watching his State of the Union Address, – he seemed both very angry, and stuck on a rock in mid-stream.  He was both shattered, blustery, and spewing.  He’d never struck me as presidential, but this was a performance unworthy of even a junior politician.  Only the teleprompters allowed him to complete his assignment.  Michelle was scowling so harshly from the balcony that I ~ almost ~ pitied his ride home with her.  Well, almost.

In his follow-on trip to Florida and yesterday to New Hampshire, – we’ve seen a whole new Obama – “NewBama”.  NewBama is still grasping to understand what happened to his spaceship.  So he cancelled ours.  He’s been told the country has 10+% unemployment so he’s going to focus on “jobs”.  He’s going to use repaid TARP money – which by law must go to pay off the deficit – to get small banks to start making [risky] loans.  I see this as a mini-version of Fanny and Freddie. He’s suddenly going to give tax breaks to small business and small private ventures. Wow!

He going to allow oil drilling in our own reserves, and offshore.  And he suddenly wants to start new nuclear power generating facilities?  Easy for him to say, he knows all his left-wing lawyer buddies will tie these moves up in court for twenty years.

But NewBama showed us his true self in Florida and NH when he took questions, and quickly reverted to his snarling attacks on Republicans, George W. Bush, insurance companies, banks, and FoxNews. He is a man stuck in denial, and still living in 2009. He became so totally comfortable going on the road selling his vision of “transforming America” that he cannot sell “jobs” with any visible feeling. Yesterday he was reading a script, – not delivering his own speech, – and it showed. Afterwards he once again reverted to his fall-back health care mode.

NewBama is a man wallowing in self-pity, denial, and bitterness.

He’s been shown magnificently inept at understanding and dealing with issues such as Iran, Afghanistan, terrorism, the law, China, Haiti, education, and above all – the American People. Day by day it becomes clearer – the man does not understand the American People. He’s isolated himself from mainstream America since his teen years, and has managed to lead a charmed life. He is the stranger-president of a nation he appears to hate, and leader of a people he neither appreciates nor understands.

But still he wants to transform us. I’m thinking that 2010 will not go well for NewBama!  The wheels are about to come off NewBama’s wagon. Without stagecraft and teleprompters, you can see NewBama is actually a lot like OldBama – an angry, twisted, empty sock puppet for Soros Socialism.  Unscripted he doesn’t do well – he puts his foot in it almost every time.

Rats always desert a sinking ship and I’m betting that NewBama’s minions will start departing the White House. After all, if they’re not all going to be Socialist Czars, then there is always that exciting world of writing books, working for MSNBC as a commentator, maybe even movie deals. Maybe we’ll finally learn the truth about him, and see long-hidden documents.

OldBama disliked or despised America and Americans.  He believed we needed “fundamental transformation – into a socialist society. But he did bask in his man-god image. That has been taken from him – abruptly – by a mere mortal – [ouch] by a common citizen-soldier.  Now Obama knows the anger and distrust we feel towards him is real, measurable, and personal.  So we need to watch this angry pResident even more carefully.  And keep his room ready over at Walter Reed.

   Old Soldier, – Still Good for Parts

And with each trip the receptions become more frigid,  the crowds thinner and less enthusiastic, and the tangible benefits to the USA increasingly elusive. Today in Copenhagen he was viewed as angry and bitter, – and desperate. Obama is now at the point of affronting friends and making enemies, as he vainly [pardon the pun] searches for love, respect, and anything he can hold up as an “accomplishment”. Then he flys home to Michelle. [shudder] We see him now as a man poorly suited and untrained to be a president – even to be a socialist president.

His bumper stickers are being peeled, and the late-nite comedians – even Moonbat Letterman – have declared open season.  What’s gone wrong?  Everything!  He clearly likes going around on Air Force One.  The handpicked military crew aboard offers him the kind of deferential honors that US and foreign politicians are withholding.

But around the world he has nothing to offer friends or foes.  By apologizing he’s made himself look weak.  By delaying a decision to send troops to McChrystal he’s looked indecisive or even cowardly. By spending wildly and talking trash he’s made himself look like an incompetent fool. No foreign leader wants to be seen doing deals with a fool.  By threatening members of Congress – he is making enemies.

The foreign press has not been co-opted by 40 years of liberal infiltration. They may have agendas, – but they see nothing to be gained by kowtowing to Obama.  In many countries he visits, – they’ve had their fill of socialism and cult-of-personality rulers. They remember their history, – the history that Obama never learned.  Moreover, while they may not have liked George W. Bush,  he certainly was more presidential, while still being down-to-earth in a way Obama cannot fathom. George always knew he’d be returning to private life. Obama intends to rule the world, – and many foreigners – both in government and in the street – clearly sense and reject it.

There is a handful of folks with an almost impossible job right now – the White House crew assigned to write HIS State-of-the-Union address.  What the hell can they crow about?  What has Obama done, except cause massive delays in Swine Flu vaccine, print scads of increasingly worthless money, sell increasingly worthless bonds, take over banks, insurance companies, car companies, threaten business leaders, and look ineffective and vain in a dozen foreign lands. 

His reckless spending, socialist talk, and 36+ Czars has scared off investment money and driven unemployment over 10.2% – 19% in Michigan – in the dead of winter.  At home he looks like a wuss or a complete fool for transferring the 9/11 five to NYC for trial,  and the rest of the terrorists to Illinois.  He caused Democrats to lose governors races in Virginia and NJ.  Now he’s poison.   And then there is his crowning glory . . . the totally hosed ObamaCare Bill.  What can they crow about?

Where IS the magic?

It would take the special effects team of Avatar to make 2009 anything worth talking about.  It will be a groan-a-minute.  This time I don’t think we’ll see Pelosi playing Jack-in-the-box.  Where is that Old Obama Magic?  Maybe, ~ just maybe ~ there never was any.  Maybe everybody got fooled?

   Old Soldier, – Still Good for Parts!

Last November 5^th, many of you Liberals had a moment of sheer exaltation.  AT LAST – a Liberal Black Democrat had been voted into the Presidency.  America was born again!  By January 20^th,  many of you were in Nirvana.  Finally that HATED Bush-Cheney team was banished.  Life could begin again. 

Wasn’t His First 100 Days just breathtaking!?  So you’re still enthusiastic, joyful, and swooning?  Your Liberal Dreams are being fulfilled?  Is the Hope and the Change and the “Yes we can” being delivered as promised?

Are you OK with the beatings your 401K and your college 529 funds have taken.  Did your portfolio include GM or Chrysler stock?  Sorry.  Are you content and even reassured by Tim Geithner’s skilled and steady hand at the helm of our economy?  Huge debt and printing more money is good right?   Everybody does it, – right?

Are you eagerly waiting for your chance to buy a new electric golf cart from the new GM [Govt Motors] or Chrysler?  Are you still smugly in agreement with OBummer’s decision to preclude any further exploration or drilling for that dirty smelly oil here in America?  If you are you must also be overjoyed with his blocking construction of new coal-fired and nuclear electrical generation stations. 

I’m curious though,  are you ~ slightly ~ annoyed with Senator Feinstein’s resistance to solar and wind farms being built in her California desert?  How are you preparing to persuade her that Obama’s clean energy is better than preserving the beauty of empty desert? 

Are you still content with that foreign relations wizard “Lovable Joe” Biden being just a heartbeat away from the presidency?  Do you still feel that he brought balance, wisdom, and depth to the ticket?  And Hillary too!   Are you satisfied with her highly visible key policy-making role in this new administration?   How do you explain Obama’s girlfriend – Valerie Jarrett – making all those foreign policy pronouncements in Cairo?  Or former Senator George Mitchell being dispatched to the Middle East?   Obama ~ does ~ trust Hillary, right?

Were you feeling the weight off your shoulders during Obama’s several World Apology tours?  Was this precisely the Hope and Change you’d been longing for?  Was it good to see the dismay and heartbreak on the faces of those WWII vets – who had liberated North Africa and Europe – as they watched this 21^st Century New World Leader apologize for America’s arrogance?   This is exactly what you voted for, – right?

And how about that Bold Stimulus Package – you know – that TRILLION-dollar quick-fix that was rushed through Congress so fast that NOT a SINGLE MEMBER read it?   But you voted for “quick action” back in November, – right?  It sure has worked economic miracles in your area, hasn’t it? 

Now I know you’re probably slightly disappointed that Obama decided not to release the water-boarding photos, because I know how badly you needed to see them to be reassured that your Bush hatred was justified.  But weren’t you thrilled to see those “innocent Chinese Uighurs” swimming in Bermuda?  And you ~ are ~ OK with having the rest of the hard-core al Qaeda locked up in a prison in your state, right?  I mean, Bush lied, – so they’re probably nowhere near as bad as he said, right?  And you are so beyond 9/11 and the beheadings of Daniel Pearl and Nick Berg, – right? 

So you’re likely thrilled with Obama’s first pick to replace David Souter – Judge Sonia Sotomayor?  Because we’ve really been needing a racist lesbian cougar to bring a little American balance to the Court, – right?  I mean,  she may eventually rule that all the Guantanamo terrorist be released – with compensation and US Citizenship.  Justice at last!

I know you’re probably ~ a little ~ frustrated with the delay in confiscating all US firearms.  But give Obama a little more time.  Even with millions of your dollars, it will take ACORN and AmeriCorps a little time to recruit enough mindless thugs, – and train them – to go door-to-door through all those right-wing neighborhoods and actually collect them.  But you’ll be SO much safer when all guns are collected and melted down!  Patience!

I do know you’re relieved that the pResident has done nothing to stem the flow of your recreational pharmaceuticals from over [or under] the Mexican border.  And you still have your crew of illegals cutting your grass every week.  They’ll probably be made citizens pretty soon, – and they’ll be able to share all the Blessings of Liberty that you do.

Let’s just hope they don’t learn how to milk the system, – or they won’t be interested in cutting your grass when they can be drawing welfare, worker’s comp, and disability!  And here in Massachusetts Obama’s pal Deval will even give them a free car! 

I assume your other growing impatience is your wait for Free Medical Care for All.  But this will take just a little longer.  After all, Obama isn’t ~ really ~ a miracle worker, – he just seems like one, and he’s only had 150 days.   It takes time to put American big companies out of business.  He sort of has to do them under one at a time.  But soon enough your health insurance company will be forced to bite the dust, – and you’ll be getting your new GovCROSS / GovSHIELD card in the mail.

And you’ll find your family doctor and your local hospital giving you EXACTLY the same level of quality service you already enjoy from the Post Office, the IRS, the Highway Department, AMTRAK, and your Dept of Motor Vehicles.  Your life-saving surgery will be scheduled with the same lightening speed that your court case was,  by an affirmative action union surgeon just as eager to operate on you as your jury pool was to hear your case.  And it will all be FREE to EVERYBODY!  

And isn’t it about time we cracked down on Wheaties and Cheerios?  Not a minute too soon.  So I know you’re excited, but contain yourself!  Even Jesus took three years to build his following.

Ooh, I hope I didn’t offend you by referencing Jesus!  Let me balance it by saying that even Muhammad took twenty-two years to do his work.  I know you were happy when Obama told the world we aren’t a Christian nation, – but really the largest Islamic nation. 

So Liberals, Progressives, and Socialists, – on balance, – are you satisfied with your MEssiah’s progress in destroying America’s hated capitalism and beginning our New Socialist Era?  Already itching to overturn that pesky 22^nd Amendment?  Relax! Obama won’t let a little thing like our Constitution stand in His way!  He hasn’t yet!   Hey, what’s a mere 29 appointed Czars between Liberal friends of Good Will?
