But the President speaks so well, I am sure that Vlad and his buddies are quaking in their boots. Will the EU also impose such sanction or are they too afraid that their natural gas from the East will be curtailed or terminated? These sanctions will have no effect on the plans of Vlad to recreate the Russian Soviet collossos annexing the rest of the Ukraine and then Bellurus.

Putin on the blah, blah, blah…

It was a lock that Ukraine would not go to the EU without a fight. It is somewhat of a surprise that Russia has stopped at the Crimea.

    Gas and Oil.

Russia is in year 7 of its ten-year plan to rebuild and modernize its military. The financing for this project comes from the sale of energy and precious metals, both of which Russia has in abundance.

The EU on the other hand is still fighting the Cold War and with Ukraine entering the EU, the naval and air bases built by the Soviet Union would fall under control of the EU and NATO.

That is why it would never happen. At the 11th hour, Putin made Ukraine an offer they could not refuse. Add this to the installation of Air Defense systems on the border with Poland; after Obama put the kabash on U.S./NATO plans to do the same on the other side, should tell you all you need to know.

The residents of the Crimea have spoken, even if it was only 93% of those present and voting; on paper ballots mind you and without incident, that they value their future, culture and borders more than any of those trying to run the world from the Hague and the U.N. offices in New York.

Were it only true that people would vote their values.

The Crimea is only the first step towards getting the USSR band back together. I don’t think Vlad is on a mission from God, though.

During WW2 the British controlled the Malay Peninsula because of the “impregnable” Fortress Singapore. Unfortunately Fortress Singapore proved to be a myth and 23,000 Japanese captured over 100,000 British troops. It is the greatest capitulation in British history.

The European Union and NATO bear shocking similarities to “Fortress Singapore”. Without a strong United States both are impotent. Sadly, the US is the weakest it has been since the post-WW2 when the boys came home and the armed forces folded up shop. The Crimea is lost, and other countries from the old Soviet block may be lost as well.

Theodore Roosevelt famously said “speak softly and carry a big stick”. Obama speaks loudly and often and carries no stick at all. The Crimea is in its current situation because of the weakness and ineptitude of Barack Obama. He has done more harm to our country then all of our past and present foes.

The 2014 elections are in about six months. Contribute to conservative candidates and get out the vote. Be sure we win 2016 Presidential election. Rebuilding the United States will take time. Electing the right people to rebuild it will require your money, time, and effort.
