Obama Ignores Earthquakes

Posted January 14th, 2010 by Iron Mike

Earthquakes happen all the time. Most are so minor we barely notice. Even here in Acton, MA we get occasional minor tremors – the Appalachians are still moving.  There was a big magnitude 6.5 roller on Saturday, Jan 9th, 27 miles West of Ferndale, [northern] California. Damage was minor, no lives lost, and recovery well within the capability of local authorities, property owners and their insurance companies. Federal involvement was unnecessary, – and probably unwanted.

But then Tuesday, Jan 12th – 25 km (15 miles) WSW of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, a massive magnitude 7.0 quake struck, leveling the city and leaving a good 1 million already impoverished people destitute and helpless amid the rubble. The death toll from the quake and the resulting diseases and violence will be in the tens of thousands. Mister Obama made a speech – promising aid.

Another Speech

It was the expected speech, delivered without feeling or emotion. The quake probably annoyed him because it distracted from his ongoing arm-twisting of senators and representatives to smooth passage of ObamaCare in time for HIS state-of-the-union address.

What Obama doesn’t realize [because he lacks experience, vision, and empathy] is that now driven to utter desperation, Haitians will attempt by any leaky boat available to come to Florida. Unless we can quickly make life in Port-au-Prince livable again, we will have a tsunami of Haitians on our beaches.  Obama needs to find a sense of urgency. Hours are ticking by.  This may well be his Katrina!

You see, Mister Obama has been ignoring earthquakes for most of 2009. There have been a series of tremors – pre-cursors to the BIG ONE, – but he’s chosen to ignore or demean them.

HOT NEWS FLASH BARRACK!!  There is a REALLY BIG ONE coming in November.  Washington will not be the same thereafter. Just you keep ignoring it . . . and see if the ground doesn’t split beneath your very feet!

You may be feeling the pre-cursor to it right here in “blue” Massachusetts!
