Marco Rubio Destroyed In CNN’s Meatgrinder

Posted February 22nd, 2018 by Iron Mike

Last night’s school shooting Town Hall – hosted by CNN in Sunrise, Florida,  was a well-baited trap, – and Senator Rubio (never a strong Republican) walked right in and was chewed to bits in the opening minutes.   He couldn’t see it coming?

For nearly 2 hours Rubio demonstrated – painfully – why he was never ready to be president.  He is clearly poorly grounded in our Constitution,  not invested in our rights,  willing to compromise our 2nd Amendment,  and unable to articulate why any of these are important.  He wilted visibly before this gun-grabbing lynch mob.  Excruciating video below the fold:

At the 12 min 48 second mark Jake Tapper brings up grieving dad Fred Guttenberg who just lost his 14-year old daughter Jaime.

Guttenberg called Rubio “pathetically weak”

Guttenberg got a standing ovation – and for Rubio it never got better.

Rubio won re-election to the Senate in 2016 by 52%, last night was likely the final public act of his career….

He’s willing to raise the age for people to buy rifles,  limit magazine size,  and supports confiscation by law enforcement if someone has a restraining order,…

  – – BUT,  – he opposes arming teachers?

He proved the old adage that a campaigning office seeker will say what the crowd wants to hear – to get elected.

But when there’s a crisis – too often the rubber doesn’t meet the road.   Rubio had campaigned as Pro 2A,  – but last night he was ducking for cover.

Rubio is toast,…but the REAL CASUALTY last night is the school kids of Florida.

If this hysterical “no guns anywhere – ever!” lynch mob prevails,  – and Florida schools are not fortified and defended,  – there will be more school shootings,  – likely as soon as this Spring.

The grownups may FEEL GOOD blaming politicians and GUNS,  – but they’re pissing into the wind.

Marco doesn’t make me as quite as ashamed to be my “representative” as Ted Kennedy, John Kerry, or Faucahauntas – – –

    but it’s close!

As Hillary said when asked, “How does Harvey Weinstein’s sexual behavior compared to your husband?” The answer — “Close, but no cigar.” (heh heh)

I fear Iron Mike is correct. I am a Floridian who supported Rubio from the git go. No more! In my mind he is toast and certainly should have seen this coming. Sad as he is basically a good man. Who led him into this trap? Regardless, it is done and he is done.

A rent-a-mob can appear anywhere, anytime, and no Republican is going to make them happy, especially when the liberal media is staging the event.

This scripted CNN Town Hall ambush, overseen by a “moderator” of legendary bias and set against the backdrop of teens and parents whose emotions overwhelmed their reason, reminds me why CNN will forever be associated with Fake News.

This pusillanimous response by Little Marco reminds me why he was soundly beaten by Trump in the 2016 primaries and why he will never be President.

This impertinent young propagandist, and his grandstanding jihad against the NRA and the Second Amendment, reminds me that it is time to renew my membership in the NRA.

This profoundly shallow national conversation that has been launched by the Left into the causes of the Stoneman Douglas massacre, a conversation that addresses all the superficial symptoms of the disease but fails to address its root causes, reminds me why it is important for all of us to read not news but philosophy.

And the failure of so many to consider any factor other than guns as contributing to our Culture of Death (for example: the decomposition of the nuclear family, the easy violence depicted in media and video games, the systematic banishment of God from the public square, the relentless assault by secular culture on traditional moral norms and the institutions that sustain them, and the devaluation of life generally) reminds me, sadly, that such incidents are bound to reoccur.

Marco is fighting in the traditional wimpy Republican manner, turn-the-other-cheek style– And it’s too bad, because this is a year we can’t afford to lose EVEN ONE Senate seat.
