Listen as George Lucas [Star Wars] describes how major Hollywood producers refused to market his film about the heroic Tuskegee Airmen – because it has an all-Black cast.

I see the same horror stories in publishing. Like Big Hollywood, the Big 6 New York publishing establishment filter what we are allowed to read based on their politics and their percieved business model.

The advent of Amazon Kindle E-books will bring down the monopoly of the Big 6 Publishing cartels the same way cable TV brought down the monopoly of ABC, CBS, and NBC. I willbe glad to see thes New York ‘gatekeepers’ crash.

However, ‘Big Hollywood’ might be a tougher nut to crack. Lucus, Stallone, and Gibson have financed their own successful projects when others have passed, but that’s a tough route for most.
