Massive Federal Failures

The Draft:  Civil War [riots], WWI, WWII, Korean War, Cold War, Vietnam War [riots fractured our country] . .

Post Office:  three (3) major private competitors – each profitable

Social Security:  cold, impersonal, bureaucratic, going broke

Medicare:  cold, impersonal, bureaucratic, going broke

Medicaid:  cold, impersonal, bureaucratic, going broke

Internal Revenue Service:  cold, impersonal, vindictive

The Federal Reserve:   Problem?  Just print more money!

Border Security:    what tunnels?  “Catch and release!”

Airport Security:  let’s strip-search GrandMa

Air Traffic Control:   Still relying on radar . . . and ancient computers

Soil Bank and Farm Crop Subsidy Plans:  [includes tobacco]

Department of Energy:  [we’re now self sufficient after 32 years, right?]

Federal Prison System:  we do such a great job of rehabilitating evil minds

Bureau of Indian Affairs:   visit any reservation without a casino.  I dare you!

EPA Site Cleanups

The Administration of Washington DC:  what a stellar crime-free city!

Anti-Drug / Anti-Cigarette Campaigns:   What drug cartels?

The Great Society:   What inner-city street gangs?

Peace Corps:   Africa is just soo peaceful these days . . .

     – – [I’m sure I’ve left something out . . . ?] – –

Yet after this LONG LIST of MASSIVE and EXPENSIVE FAILURES  [albeit many with the best of intentions] – the Dems, Progressives and Socialists still believe, and want you to believe – that somehow – under their MEssiah – government is suddenly going to “get it right” – and deliver low-cost / free medical care to everybody – cheaper and more effectively than any present private system?

Go ahead, – show this list to your favorite Kool-Aid drinker.  Let him/her explain how this time everything will be different.  Uh-huh!  Using what geniuses to run it?  ACORN?  The SEIU?  MoveON.org?  Who damnit, who?

Now you know why snake-oil salesmen used to be everywhere – and were all pretty well dressed.  P. T. Barnum’s quote comes to mind:  “There’s a sucker born every minute,  and another man born who will sucker him”.   Today’s snake-oil salesmen/women are sitting in Congress!
