The first day held two surprises…
First, Liz Cheney said she always has her Dad review her speeches, but today she had a better idea… she brought him along, and introduced him to a standing, extended ovation.
The second surprise was the appearance by our own Scott Brown. I’m including some video that I took (keep in mind that it was taken with my pocket camera). Scott ended by introducing Mitt Romney. I’ll try to include some of that video as well.
In spite of the above, the rest of the day included these notables…
David Keene (ACU) – “The strength of our movement in not in Washington, it is out in the country with you folks.”
Jim DeMint – Washington’s establishment laughed off Rubio, they’re not laughing now!” (He introduced Marco Rubio)
Marco Rubio – “Why have I been able to achieve things that my grandfather could not? Because I am a member of the single greatest society that ever existed. From Tea Parties to the MA election we are experiencing the single greatest political pushback in American history.” And “Everything I have ever accomplished I owe to God, my parents, and the United States of America.”
Jim DeMint – The battle is between the American people and the Democrats; and I like those odds.” And “Time is tight within the Republican party – It’s really a fight between those who take the Constitution seriously, and those who don’t.” and “Just because you’re good on TV doesn’t mean you can sell Socialism to Americans.”
Dick Armey – “The Dems are out. The Republicans must come to us (speaking of the Tea Party folks) to get in, and then not forget how they got there.
Dick Cheney – “Barack Obama is a one-term president and 2010 will be an amazing year for conservatives.”
Mitt Romney – “Did you hear that they stripped our Olympic skier Lindsay Vonn of her gold medals? It turns out President Obama is sliding downhill faster than anyone.” (joke)
