A Promising Career Cut Short

Sal DiMasi – you could take lessons!

He could have been a big name deal-maker! His story could have become a best-seller, and even a movie.

But sadly yesterday Harry Thomas Jr’s dual career in DC Politics and crime came to an end when he resigned from the DC City Council:

“I am resigning my position as a member of the Council effective immediately. I made some very serious mistakes and exhibited inadequate and flawed judgment. I take full responsibility for my actions. I am truly sorry.”

Today the 51 year old Thomas will plead guilty to stealing more than $350K of government money, filing false income tax reports, and betraying the public trust.

You see – most or all of that $350K he took was intended for youth sports programs in mostly-Black crime-ridden Washington DC.

Harry went golfing, bought himself a Chevy Tahoe, and a motorcycle . . . and took vacations.

So when you read about crime and poverty in Washington, DC, – think of all the years Harry was lining his pockets, collecting your tax dollars and conning the poor folks of DC to keep voting for him – because he was looking out for their interests.

Move over Sal – a big-time crook is coming!

UPDATE 5 May 2012:  Harry got 38 months – and always the elitist – asked to serve his time in either Pensaacola or Montgomery Federal Prison Camps.
