No matter what your personal opinion is on the role of women in front-line combat – Obama again has broken the law.
He’s ignored our Constitution.
We should be used to it by now.
From Article I, Section 8
[enumerates the duties of the Congress]:
To raise and support Armies, but no Appropriation of Money to that Use shall be for a longer Term than two Years;
To provide and maintain a Navy;
To make Rules for the Government and Regulation of the land and naval Forces;
To provide for calling forth the Militia to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions;
To provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining, the Militia, and for governing such Part of them as may be employed in the Service of the United States, reserving to the States respectively, the Appointment of the Officers, and the Authority of training the Militia according to the discipline prescribed by Congress;
In our recent wars – Americans have come to accept our battlefield supremacy – with engagements measured in hours, days – weeks at the most, – like the take-down of Fallujah.
Forgotten are the long grueling battles – Guadalcanal, Bataan, Okinawa, Korea, or the siege of Khe Sanh.
Now as Obama deliberately weakens our military – ending DADT, ordering women into combat units, and cutting our forces through the gimmick of sequestration – we are setting the stage for another Bataan, another Kasserine Pass, or another Task Force Smith.
Worse for our military – and our country – we’re seeing generals and admirals promoted – and fired – for their political views – and their willingness to go along with this morally bankrupt despot. Soon we’ll have a military hierarchy as spineless as we had by the end of Vietnam – full of risk-adverse ‘public servants’ – not crafty warriors.
Feminists and liberals won’t care. They want to see women advance through the ranks – decorated for combat valor – and thus qualified equally with men for high military and political office.
Somehow they ignore the price that must be paid.
Yes, I have strong feeling on this. I’ve seen women in combat. They were incredibly brave, they hung in there, – but damn-it, OURS shouldn’t be there representing a country of over 310 million Americans.
We have enough men [at least we used to] to fight our battles and leave our current and future mothers safe at home.
Combat is nothing like being a policeman. You don’t go back to the station at the end of a shift – then go home.
It isn’t a sport you can regulate with Title IX to make it ‘fair and equal’.
By definition, there is an enemy trying to kill you – looking for your every weakness, – your every inattention, – your every distraction.
Don’t tell me “The Israelis do it – why can’t we?”
Simple: the Israelis have only 7.7 million people – they have their backs to the sea, and they’re surrounded by 200 million hostile Arabs. We are nowhere near that desperate.
Our military ought not to be a political tool used by a rogue pResident for his political ends.
ASK YOURSELF: WHY is Obama both weakening our military – AND trying to disarm our population?
