…50 years later….we have a nightmare!
His mission was to end hatred, separation, and segregation. He wanted Blacks to have the opportunity – an equal opportunity – for education, housing, and jobs. He wasn’t looking for handouts; – he saw jobs as the key to political and economic equality.
He sought to unite people -“where little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls and walk together as sisters and brothers.”
He’d be angered to watch Obama …using race, class, and gender politics to garner votes and stay in power.
“…I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.”
King subscribed to non-violent civil disobedience.
He would be horrified by the violence of Obama’s politics.
He would be horrified to know that under Obama we are becoming a welfare and food stamp nation – that 28% of recipients are Black, and 15% are Hispanic. That the Democratic Party who was resisting Civil Rights 50 years ago – is still conspiring to keep Blacks on ‘voter plantations’ in inner-city ghettos.
He’d want to know who in the Democratic Party hijacked the Civil Rights Movement and turned it into an evil trick to keep Blacks poor, dependent on government, – and both welfare and drug addicted.
I can just imagine what he’d have to say to that pretender in the White House today!
