Art? Inappropriate? Or Insensitive?

Posted August 4th, 2012 by ironmike

Os Gemeos painted this thing overlooking the Rose F. Kennedy Greenway in Boston.

Is it a boy wearing pajamas with a shirt over his head? Or does it look like something more sinister? Is this the best work Pedro Alonzo and the Institute of Contemporary Art can give us?

If Os Gemeos [identical Brizilian twins Otavio and Gustavo Pandolfo] have a message, – I don’t get it. Seems to me this work is only inspiring controversy.  The Institute couldn’t find any American artists?

I have nothing to lose here. All I see is a BURKA. And so it begins…

I have a friend who went swimming at the AB pool one evening and his swimming companions were two women wearing burkas. Not with the whole face covering, just the head scarf and the “dress”. good thing they didn’t go to the deepens. The clothes might have dragged them under. have they never heard of the burkina? Mo joke. look it up.

I think she looks hot. You can be so insensitive.
