Hi Americans,
Royal Caribbean Cruses wanted to make a mega-statement. They had a mega cruise ship built. I’m sure they’ve worked out the numbers and figure they’ll make mega-bucks. As a kid I always heard the grownups say “the bigger they are, – the harder they fall!”

Oasis of the Seas 2009
This past week the thing – Oasis of the Seas – left Finland for Miami – where it would complete its interior decorating and start it’s first paying cruise. But crossing the Atlantic it ran into the remnants of Hurricane Ida. Those 40-foot waves and strong winds forced her to stay at sea two extra days.
Oasis: 225,282 tons, 5,408 passengers, 16 decks, 2,704 cabins,
Titanic: 46,326 tons, 3,500 passengers
Look at the huge flat sides of this baby, and how high she rides out of the water. It looks like chicken coops lashed to a barge. I hate to be a pessimist, but - anybody else worried that a sudden gust could roll her on her side? Let’s see Shelley Winters swim out of this one.
