Established to communicate mainstream and conservative Republican thinking. For a brief moment, as Obama swept into office, we felt like we were wandering alone through a socialist desert. But quickly your hits started adding up, and we know that we’re not alone. Part of the blame also lies with the leadership of our own Republican Party – mostly for trying to win votes by running RiNO candidates who masquerade as pseudo-Democrats.

Well Ryan,

I'd say he should consider it if:

1) he knew sweet f&%k-all about what commanding military operations entailed and
2) if he truly took "a few seconds" or even days, not weeks of delays while he galavants about the countryside campaigning (what he does best) for his health care initiatives.

Funny how this "Graveyard of Empires" was the "real war we should be fighting post-9/11" when Bush was President and now that Obama is in office, it's not important enough even to make a decision on troop levels.

Iron Mike,

Nice blog! But I've got to take issue with a couple of ideas. Do you think that a president should never take the time to consider authorizing what a general wants? What do you think the end-game is in Afghanistan that 40,000 troops could accomplish? I would take a few seconds before I sent 40,000 of our kids into the Graveyard of Empires with no clear plan.

Also, if Congress is corrupt, which it is, it's corrupted by lobbyists and money of the health insurance industry, who hate the idea of the public option. Therefore if corruption influences decisions on the issue of health reform, it will be to kill the public option. So in this instance, maybe corruption is working in your favor if you don't like the public option.

Have a good one
