OBummer wanted to appoint an OBummer clone to the post of the Army’s top lawyer. So rather than go inside the ranks of the JAG Corps, he picked a rising DC star – Donald M. Remy, a partner at Latham & Watkins LLP. Remy has a BS from LSU ’88 and a JD from Howard ’91. He worked in Janet Reno’s Justice Department back in the ’90s trying to smooth over Waco and Ruby Ridge. His biggest claim to fame is working for Fannie Mae after Katrina.
But he failed to disclose that Fannie Mae connection on his confirmation questionnaire. Oops. He just withdrew his name from nomination. Nobody had time to ask him about taxes.
And of course Mister Remy has been a long time big contributor to such socialist stalwarts as Charlie Rangel, Chris Dodd, the Fannie Mae PAC, Hillary, William [cash in the freezer] Jefferson, Mary Landrieu, Tom Daschle and OBummer’s senate and presidential campaigns. Anybody see a pattern here?
I guess it is too much to expect of our virulently anti-military pResident to appoint people to key military posts who come with any actual military service.
