First a quick history lesson:
During the summer and fall of the 1988 presidential campaign, the name of a Massachusetts murderer named Willie Horton became a household word. Horton’s face, image, and deeds were spread across every TV screen in America.
For those of you too young to remember, in 1974 Willie robbed a gas station, and stabbed the 17-year old attendant 19 times, and tossed him into a dumpster, where he bled to death. Horton was sentenced to life without the possibility of parole. But in 1986 under a program approved by über-liberal Governor Michael Dukakis, Horton was given a weekend furlough.
Horton skipped town, and just ten months later brutalized, beat and pistol-whipped a couple in Oxon Hill, Maryland, raping the woman several times. He then stole the couple’s car for his get-away. When tried and sentenced the Maryland judge refused to return him to Massachusetts, not wanting him “to ever breath free air again”. Horton is still doing life in Maryland.
Dukakis lost the 1988 election for many reasons, including an ill-advised ride in a tank. But the Willie Horton debacle was the brush that painted him soft on crime, and insensitive to the suffering of crime victims. Unbowed, Dukakis still points to “the 99% success rate with the furlough program”. Some liberals seem genetically incapable of learning.
Today our arrogant Liberal-in-Chief is planning to release a fairly substantial number of the jihadists held safely in Guantanamo into our civilian justice system, and the remainder directly into American society, presumably with some significant walking-around money. In all there are some 250 Islamist Willie Hortons that our Kenyan-born president is going to inject into our court system, and into our streets.
Just in terms of lawyers fees, court costs, time Americans will have to spend on jury duty, and all of the extra security for each of these liberal show trials, – this is a catastrophic blunder of near biblical proportion. This is the [illegal] president of the United Stated caving into the demands of Nancy Pelosi, Barbara Streisand and the ACLU, and doing so without regard to your safety. He has been strongly advised not to do it by far wiser men and women than I.
He will not listen. The narcissist beast within him will not allow it. He must be recorded as the smartest, fairest, and most progressive leader the World has ever seen. This is his grand moment - to overturn Bush and the neo-cons, to right wrongs, and to etch his legend into the courthouse granite. [And maybe to embolden his Islamic brethren. ] Perhaps he knows that show trials will attract reporters, while he escapes notice as he finishes socializing our economy.
But if any of these 250 hard-core proven terrorists commit any act of violence upon a guard, upon court personnel or other prisoners, then OBummer will have to wear the Mike Dukakis albatross around his own neck. For this is his most in-your-face order as Traitor-in-Chief, and any fallout will be totally on him.
If any of the released terrorists commit any act against ANYONE, – this too will be on OBummer’s arrogant head. Court bailiffs, prison guards, parole officers, and police are trained to deal with criminals, not jihadists who are willing to die for their god.
And the possibility is very real. Already dozens of Guantanamo detainees released under Bush’s watch have gone back to Afghanistan and Iraq, and found an AK-47 in their hands again. Some have been recaptured, – the rest thankfully have been killed.
I don’t personally believe that Obummer spends any time praying. Those twenty years listening to Reverend Wright were political training, – not the worship of God. And if Obummer really does pray, then he probably faces Mecca. In either case, he should pray. If he releases the Guantanamo detainees here in the USA, and there is any problem at all, – he could be impeached for willful failure to “well and faithfully execute the duties” that he swore [twice] that he would carry out.
That’s a trial I would pay to watch!

Old Soldier, – Still Good for Parts!

This kind of article is simply more of what has turned the world away from the US over the last few years.
There’s so much wrong in this article, it’s hard to know where to begin!
I suppose the most obvious is the stuff regarding Obama and religion. You refer to his “islamist brethern”, so I take it that you think he’s a Muslim. Then in the final paragraph you mention “I don’t personally believe that (Obama) spends any time praying.” The “Idiot’s guide to Islam” will tell you that all Muslims must pray five times a day, otherwise they are not Muslims. QED.

Remember, America has previously led the world in human rights, standing up for the free, and the “innocent until proven guilty”? Here in Ireland, we went through all that detention stuff as recently as the 1970s – what was the result? A generation of terrorism and more terrorism. When we returned human rights look at what happened – peace, prosperity, freedom, justice.

No-one in the western world want terrorists roaming the world, if you guys think you have someone that evil, do please put them away, and I think the rest of the world has a duty to help you in that – but if you’re so sure you’ve got the right people, then show the world. What happens when you lock them up with trial and torture them for years? You simply make martyrs of them, and more and more will step into their shoes. I’m not talking about apeasement – I hate radical fundamenalists (of all religions) and they should have their “rights” stripped from them, but only when we all know they’re guilty.
Also, “jihadists” is the incorrect word – all Muslims are called to “jihad”, which means struggle, in the same context as all Christians who are called to “sacrifice”. A “jihadist” is simply someone doing what they are supposed to in the Muslim world. A “terrorist Muslim” or “religious zealot” or whatever else is what you’re trying to stop. There people are warped, even by Islamic standards – check out the Koran, it’s actually more anti-violence than the Bible. (And I’m not promoting Islam here, I’m a Christian.)
Also, go and read more about socialism, so you understand how it works. Socialism is not communism, or marxism. Most of Europe is socialist, and we seem to have more peace, less terrorism, more stable economies, a happy population, less sex-crime, and above all, more freedom. (The big exception being my own country, Ireland, where our economy is currently held together with a piece a string – but then, that’s what we get for following the US model of investment so we deserve it.) Further, if you’re worried about socialism, why don’t you do more about communism in the world? Now that the US economy depends on China (thank your glorious neo-cons for that one), their regime will never fall. Unlike the USSR, they now have totalitarian communism AND massive amounts of money. If Obama hadn’t bailed out your banks and car manufacturers, the Chinese would have. So stop dealing with China for crying out loud! Then at least you could be consistent in criticising socialism.
My view of US politics seems to be each side opposes the other simply for the sake of opposing – it doesn’t really matter what Obama does, you’re going to criticise him anyway, aren’t you? There’s no way Obama has make 100% mistakes, and not done any good, so have you anything CONSTRUCTIVE to say? You as a country are no longer the last superpower – China has joined you, and could outpace you. So it DOES matter what world thinks of the US – you need a president like Obama that the world will love, because when the world loves the US they’ll do anything to help you guys.
